HelpScam DMs

Scam DMs

What the bot can do about scam messages inside the group, and what it cannot delete.

Outside the group

A private message in someone’s personal inbox is outside the group. We cannot open that inbox and we cannot delete that DM. Anyone who says they can is overstating what a group bot can do.

Inside the group

The bot warns members, posts a safety notice, and bans the sender from the group. It also holds scam links, looks for impersonators that copy an admin’s name or photo, and filters bot joiners.
